Complete and Submit Application for Admission

The Springfield Commonwealth Academy application can be easily accessed here. Families may also utilize the Common Application produced by The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS). A nonrefundable fee of $25 must accompany your application ($100 for international students.) Upon acceptance this fee is credited to the fall enrollment balance.

At Springfield Commonwealth Academy, we require all applicants to submit a Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). The PFS generates an expected family contribution towards the total cost of attendance at SCA. 

Visit to create your online account with an active email address and password. You will need to provide proof of income (e.g., W-2, Pay stub) along with your latest tax return.  Based off the information provided, you may asked to pay $42 processing fee.*

*Please note, the NAIS uses a scale to determine which families are exempt from the PFS processing fee. 

Attend Open House and Interview

Applicants are encouraged to participate in our Open House events, tour the campus and participate in a personal interview. Please contact our admissions office to  schedule a campus visit and secure a spot during our next Open House event. 

Submit standardized test scores

All students applying to Springfield Commonwealth Academy (SCA) will need to submit recent standardized testing (e.g., MCAS, CMT’s CAPT’s, A-Net, PARCC or SSAT). Any test scores submitted should be dated within the last academic school year of the student's application to SCA. The SSAT is a standardized test used by private schools to measure academic aptitude at three academic levels: elementary, middle, and upper school.

Transcripts & Recomendations

Applicants should upload original copies of transcripts or report cards and attach them to their online application. Any transcript must include all grades from the current academic year. Additionally, letters of recommendation are required from one English and one Math teacher of the applicant's choosing. A third letter of recommendation from a coach, other teacher, or unrelated mentor may be submitted to support the prospective student.


The Admissions office reviews all applications for admission to Springfield Commonwealth Academy. Letters of invitation to prospective students are mailed by August 1.
