Springfield Commonwealth Academy
Welcome to Springfield.
Springfield Commonwealth Academy (SCA) was founded in 2012 on a historical campus that first served as an all-girls school in 1890. After opening its doors, SCA has served as a distinguished, independent college preparatory boarding and day school for students in grades 8-12 and postgraduates. Our urban setting, diverse community, college preparatory curriculum, and boarding and athletics programs all work together to provide students with a well-rounded learning and living experience that prepares them to take on the world confidently.
Developing lifelong learners.
Academics and Community
Springfield Commonwealth Academy (SCA) offers a multicultural, college preparatory curriculum for students in grades 8 to 12 and postgraduates. Our students not only take courses in English, Math, Science and Social Studies, but are also avid learners of multiple Foreign Languages and active participants in competitive sports.
Since 2018, SCA has had the privilege of enrolling international students from over 20 different countries including Canada, China, Colombia, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Panama, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey and Venezuela. The strong diversity on campus truly makes our community more vibrant as nearly all of our students live on campus.
SCA boasts a 100% graduate ratio and has sent its graduates to colleges and universities all over the United States and even overseas. Out student athletes have also had great success in reaching the next level of competition with many now playing NCAA D1 Basketball and Baseball. SCA is also an official SAT test center.
SCA is accredited by the New England Association of Schools & Colleges (NEASC) and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). SCA is also a member of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC).
We do more than just teach.
